Creating high-quality videos is an essential skill for effective communication, whether you’re producing content for educational purposes, marketing, or personal projects. Recording a new video allows you to share your message in a dynamic and engaging way.

Open the Teamly Capture bubble or select the Teamly icon from your dock or system tray, then click “Capture.”

⚠️  The float widget/bubble can be turned on in your Capture Settings.

Use the crosshairs to select the specific area of the screen you want to record. On the left side of the crosshairs, use the zoom feature to focus precisely on the location of your pointer.

If necessary, drag the selected area to reposition it. To capture the full screen, simply click once when the crosshairs appear.

After you release the crosshairs, if needed, use the resize handles around the selected area to adjust the recording frame by clicking and dragging the edges or corners to your desired size.

⚠️  If no specific area is selected for recording, the default setting will capture the entire screen.

Before starting the recording, you have the option to toggle the narrator's camera bubble on or off, as well as turning the microphone on or off. You can also cancel the recording or click "Capture" to begin recording.

⚠️ The first time you enable the camera and microphone options, you'll be prompted to grant Teamly access to use them.

If you haven't selected a microphone or camera, you'll be prompted to choose one in your settings when you try to use those tools.

Clicking on "Capture" will start a countdown.

When the recording begins, you’ll see the current run time along with the storage space used and your plan’s remaining storage.

Next, you’ll find the option to turn the narrator’s camera bubble on or off.

Next, you’ll have the option to toggle the microphone on or off.

Use the pencil tool to draw directly on the screen recording, and adjust the drawing size with the slider.

Need to correct a mistake or erase a drawing? Use the eraser tool to remove it, and adjust its size with the slider.

The pause option lets you take a break from recording whenever needed.

When you’re finished, click on “Stop.”

To cancel the recording, click the X icon in the top-right corner.

After clicking the X icon, you’ll have the option to either “Cancel Recording” or “Resume.”

After clicking “Stop,” the video content will begin uploading to the server. The upload progress will be displayed and you will also have the option to cancel the upload if needed.

When the upload is successful, the recording link will be automatically copied to your clipboard. You can also click on “Edit video” to preview or make edits. All screen captures are saved in the “Files” tab, which you can access using the “Open Folder” option. Each file is labeled with the date and timestamp, based on the timezone configured in your Teamly account.

If the upload fails, a message like the one below will appear, providing options to either cancel or retry the upload.

When your plan’s storage reaches its limit, a pop-up notification (like the one below) will appear. You can free up space by clearing files or consider upgrading your plan for additional storage.
